WASO

On the weekend of January 28 and 29, 2006, the beautiful Lake Karrinyup Country Club provided the perfect setting for a wonderful evening of music for the Emirates WASO Concert with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. On both evenings prior to the concerts, the club catered for dignitaries, members and other VIPs commencing with pre-dinner drinks in the courtyard before moving into the Dining Room and Bar for a sumptuous 4 course meal accompanied by world class Western Australian wines. At the same time, more of the club's members and guests enjoyed the Poolside Package buffet barbecue which proved to be an outstanding success.

Upon the conclusion of their meals, the VIP and Poolside diners, together with those who purchased general admission tickets, were treated to an outstanding performance by Dame Kiri together with the excellent WASO and WA Opera Chorus, conducted by Brian Castels-Onion. A total of 10,000 people enjoyed the two concerts.

In January 2007, WASO again held their Emirates WASO Concert, this time with multi Grammy Award winning Jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves. Held on Saturday January 20, the event followed the same successful format of the previous year with various catering packages on offer and under a star-filled sky, Reeves dazzled the audience with her wonderful voice, accompanied by the WA Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Guy Noble.
