Rules and Handicapping

NEW LOG-IN PROCESS TO VIEW HANDICAPS AND HANDICAP HISTORIES ON www.golf.org.au

Please see attached (click here) a communication from Golf Australia CEO Stephen Pitt advising that from Tuesday 4 September 2018 all golfers and officials will need to log-in to view handicaps and handicap histories on www.golf.org.au.

The new log-in process will only apply when handicap or score history information is being accessed on www.golf.org.au.  Nothing will change for the experience of a member when they remain within their club software system.  Also attached (click here) is a table of scenarios that clarifies when the new log-in process will be required, and when there is no change.

NEW RULES OF GOLF FROM 1ST JANUARY 2019

The R&A and Golf Australia have developed a series of resources to help members transition to the new Rules of Golf when they take effect on 1 January 2019.

The following items are available from www.golf.org.au/newrules

1. 1-minute videos on each major change
2.  Downloadable flyers/posters
3.  The R&A’s new Rules app
4.  R&A PowerPoint on new Rules – for presentation by club officials
5.  Online versions of the new Rules of Golf and Player’s Edition
6.  Interpretations on the Rules (note: Interpretations replace the old Decisions)
7.  Committee Procedures
8.  Modified Rules of Golf for Players with Disabilities
9.  Written information on all the changes
10. NOTE: Advice on further resources coming soon

KEY WEBSITE RESOURCES FOR MEMBERS:

•  Flyers and posters – www.golf.org.au/newrules#flyers .  The poster sets out all of the key information a golfer needs to know to be ready when the new Rules take effect on 1 January 2019.

•  1-minute videos – www.golf.org.au/newrules#videos .  These bite-sized videos are very well produced and provide an excellent overview of the changes.

We hope this information is helpful and please let me know if you have any queries.
