{"id":3870,"date":"2013-03-15T10:42:47","date_gmt":"2013-03-15T02:42:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lkcc.com.au\/cms\/?p=3870"},"modified":"2023-06-20T14:39:51","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T06:39:51","slug":"daisy-savage-ladies-opening-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lkcc.com.au\/cms\/2013\/03\/15\/daisy-savage-ladies-opening-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Daisy Savage Ladies Opening Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With some of the worst weather we\u2019ve had in some time, the weekday ladies braved the elements for their official Opening Day of the golf season on Thursday 14<sup>th<\/sup> March.\u00a0 175 ladies were booked in to play the main course and 24 ladies on the short course.\u00a0 A few groups opted for coffee instead of golf due to the weather conditions, but the majority of ladies started, of which\u00a02\/3 of the field finished.\u00a0 Play was suspended 3 times due to lightening and despite the conditions, some good scores were achieved. From those ladies who have been playing at the club for over 50 years, it was the worst weather ever for Opening Day<\/p>\n<p>The Daisy Savage Bowl winners on the Main Course with a score of 47 points were <b>Dorothy Ambler<\/b> and <b>Moira Braddock<\/b> and on the Short Course winners, <b>Sue King<\/b> and <b>Morag Harris<\/b> with\u00a038 points for 14 holes.\u00a0In the evening following Presentation, 174 ladies enjoyed a delicious dinner. The Flower Committee ladies as well as the staff ensured that the dining room looked magnificent.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday 17<sup>th<\/sup> March, St Patrick\u2019s Day, 24 ladies decked in green took part in the Weekend Ladies Opening Day. Drawn partners played a stableford game with both scores added for the first nine holes and scores multiplied for the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> 9. This caused a bit of pressure to be placed on some players but it was all lots of fun and the sun shone in contrast to Thursday. The winners were <b>Phil Colleran<\/b> and <b>Sandy Spence<\/b> (shown here with the Weekend Ladies\u2019 leader, Wendy Naude).
