With over 150 members and guests, this year’s Melbourne Cup was an outstanding success.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Spring Carnival fever hit Karrinyup with fascinators, frocks, outrageous ties, glamourous hats and plenty of bubbles.\u00a0 Racegoers arrived bright and early and were treated to complimentary champagne and canapes in the main bar while they purchased their sweepstakes tickets and prepared for the big race with anticipataion.\u00a0 With Fiorente coming in first followed by a close 2nd and 3rd, there were some happy punters collecting their winnings.\u00a0 Fran Goddard was the lucky winner of the “Quinella”\u00a0taking home $200!\u00a0 Members & guests proceeded to the dining room for a magnificent 3 course meal\u00a0 where the judging of the prizes took part.\u00a0\u00a0President Chris Carey and his wife\u00a0Pam judged the best dressed male\u00a0(John Halley complete with US$100 bow tie), best dressed female\u00a0(Anne Marie Carter),\u00a0best hat\/fascinator (Karly Dehring) and best tie – once again Andrew van der Meer.\u00a0 Lucky door prizes were also awarded to 3 happy people, .\u00a0 A great day was had by\u00a0everyone in attendance\u00a0with some quoting they were already getting their table together for next year!!!\u00a0<\/p>\n
