On Wednesday 19th of September a Members Information Night was conducted and I would like to sincerely thank all of those members, including many of our new members who attended. Strong feedback was received from a number of members in relation to the condition of our greens.
I would like to remind all members that we have been working continuously since the greens were laid to improve their playability. To this end the Greens Committee have been addressing maintenance issues and the Course Advisory Committee design issues such as drainage. The greens have improved to a degree but all three committees, including the General Committee, are not satisfied that the promised standard has been met yet.
Since that evening the Club has received a number of emails outlining in more detail what the perceived issues are and we thank those members for taking the time to do this. The Committee has also taken the step to contact a number of those members who expressed concern to talk to them in more detail. The Committee does take member feedback seriously on any matter not least of which is that that relates to our course. It is acknowledged that the greens have not consistently performed to expectations and that a range of options are being explored. We ask members to be patient while all of the feedback we have received can be considered and an appropriate strategy is devised.
Good golfing,
Chris Carey – Club President
