A dose of wild winter weather and some ill-timed golf trips left the Karrinyup Cup field at just 195 on Saturday. The morning field had the worst of the weather and only 55 of the 64 starters finished their round. A number had dropped out of the afternoon due to the overnight and morning weather but there were still 127 starters. While there was some glimpses of weather that had hampered the morning field it was significantly better for golf and the scores reflected that with nearly all of those mentioned at presentations coming from the afternoon field. At the end of the day it was Ralph Gibson who prevailed, carding an impressive 68 to take home the major prize by 2 shots from Steve Palframan and Stephen Seward. Nick Vogel won the gross on countback from Brendan Milburn after both shot 74 and Martin Philpott won the short course event.
Post golf it was once again time to don the black tie for the club dinner. 142 were lead into the dining room by the piper for a great night of good food, wine and company which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
