Men’s Pennant Season Finals

The Men’s Metropolitan Pennant season wound up with the finals being played on Sunday 4th August.

The Division 1 finaI was played at Lake Karrinyup with Cottesloe 6 defeating Royal Fremantle 3.

Our Division 8 team made the final and fought a tough battle at Lakelands against The Vines.  Alas they did not bring back the pennant this year, but it was unbelievably close.  They lost 4-3 with the last game going to the 19th and it was a valiant attempt with The Vines deservedly winning after a very strong finish.

Captain Mark Innes would like to call out everyone’s contribution in getting them there, and especially Steve Temple, Andrew O’Neil and Oliver Bradshaw who were their winners  on the day.  Commiserations to Tony O’Shea (and the team of course) for such a close loss, but I’m sure they all took something away which will help next year or even in next week’s Championships.

A big thank you to Steve Palframan for his great organisation as Pennant Captain and to Leon Platel for his tireless efforts and assistance during the Pennant Season.
