With the sun blazing and spirits high, Sunday saw yet another successful event run by the Younger Members committee, LKCC ‘Wine and Food Festival’. Attracting over 70 members and their guests, the selection of wines and gourmet canapés showcased were thoroughly enjoyed.
All twelve wineries selected their best red & white wine to put forward to the judging panel consisting of Bob Cartwright, Stephen Nicoloff, Nathan Pieters & John Pendred. After careful deliberation the winners were selected and will now be featured as a new addition to our Lake Karrinyup wine list.
The best red on the day was: Rosemount’s Little Berry Shiraz scoring 71.5/80.
The best white on the day was: Rosily Semillon Sauvignon Blanc scoring 68.5/80. The white wine category was extremely close with the runner up Xabregas Reisling on 67.5.
A fantastic afternoon was enjoyed by all who attended and we look forward to hosting a bigger and better event in 2014, stay tuned for more details.
