The 2014 Jubilee Foursomes was played at Lake Karrinyup Country Club on Sunday the 4th of May with 37 pairings teeing it up. The event was 36 holes of foursomes stroke, a format that can test the strongest of friendships.
The day annually kicks off with the traditional early morning breakfast comprising of all the regular breakfast items along with a few delicacies. Among the breakfast options were kippers, kidneys and of course goon juice.
Many players found it tough to adapt to the format (or felt the effects of the goon) in the morning which was reflected in the scoring. Paddy Berney and Barry Jennings had no such issue, gelling extremely well together to post an excellent net score of 72.5.
By the afternoon round the field had got into the swing of the format with many pairings improving on their morning score. Amongst the afternoon rounds was a very impressive net score of 69.5 by Andrew Burrows and Brett Symons.
One pairing who seemed to love the alternate shot competition was the pairing of Rob Baker and Kade Harvey. The pair posted 2 great scores of 73.5 and 69.5 for a total of 143 and took out the Karrinyup Jug and the 2014 Jubilee Foursomes title.
Congratulations to all the
prize recipients and all those who participated in the day.
