The 2014 Winter Cup lived up to its name with wet and windy conditions testing 66 players on Sunday the 25th of May. The event is contested over 36 holes of par with the winner receiving their name engraved on the perpetual Winter Cup.
The morning round saw some solid scoring with the best being from Greg Hortle who was leading after one round (count back) over Steve Palframan on a score of +2.
The wet and blustery weather tested the players in the afternoon, although a handful of players managed to fend off the weather to post some excellent scores. Among those players was Tim Allison who fired a very impressive score of +3 for the round.
Brett Symons found the conditions to his liking and finished the day in second place with a total score of +4. The most amazing score of the afternoon belonged to Saxon Norgard who managed to post an unbelievable score of + 7, which along with his solid morning score of square allowed him to take home the 2014 Winter Cup.
