Our trip to Barwon Heads on the Mornington Peninsula

On the 31st August 4 ladies from our club travelled to Melbourne to be part of

the Barwon Heads Golf Club Women’s Invitational Challenge: Christine Evans,
Lyn Welman, Robin Challenor and Debra Wright

We arrived at Barwon Heads Monday morning  shown  to our accomodation,
presented with a lovely lunch and then proceeded to play 18 holes of golf with a
Shotgun at 1pm.  The weather on was very wet but not too windy. This was then followed  by a Presentation dinner which
gave us the chance to meet all the other clubs.

There were 17 Clubs represented three from WA being Royal Perth and Cottesloe and LKCC.

Breakfast  Tuesday morning was followed by another Shotgun start for 18
holes and our last presentation lunch. The coditions were extremely cold and windy it felt about -7deg.!!!
The course was a typical Links and Dunes course very challenging and
exciting.

We were fortunate to have the local ladies lend us their electric buggies and
we Thank them for that.

I am very proud to say that LKCC ladies came in at 8th place out of 17clubs
Lyn Welman got 2x nearest the pins on the same day, lots of excitement there!

We thanked the Club for their hospitality, great organising ability and a very
good time was had by all.

On the drive back to Melbourne we stopped over and played at Sorrento Golf Club
and The National ( Old Course )

That is a story for another day
