Lake Karrinyup Ladies play at Lancelin Open Day

Lancelin Golf Course had its ladies open day on Thursday the 11th of September and we welcomed 5 visitors from Lake Karrinyup to play. Great weather and a country welcome made for a fabulous day.

The Lake Karrinyup girls experienced for the first time sand greens and one club length preferred lies. One of the Lake Karrinyup ladies that played putted so well she wanted to put sand greens in at Lake Karrinyup. The Lancelin members quickly offered to take the unwanted grass!

Lancelin Golf Course is lucky to have June Gooch who is the granddaughter of Daisy Savage as a very keen member and Ladies Captain.

To make things relative, the course at Lancelin is over 6 kms long and has a reliable but small workforce of about 5 volunteers who have recently installed reticulation, are building new grass tee boxes and are grassing around the sand greens.

Guests are always welcome so come and play next time you are in the area.

We are always on the look out for any help in improving this coastal course.
