Thursday 11th June saw the Annual LKCC Charity Day held in magnificent weather.
A contingent of Charity Day Committee ladies arrived early (6am) to set up the stalls of Crafts, Raffles, Jams & Preserves, Homemade Cakes and Lucky Dip.
A full field of 144 golfers played Canadian Foursomes on the Main Course, stopping at the transformed Half-Way House Cafe as they passed between the front and back nines. A field of 44 North Course golfers also enjoyed morning tea before teeing off for their Canadian Foursomes competition.
The winners on the Main Course were Marion Vander Kraats (LKCC) and Gail Warrilow (CGC). The North Course winners were LKCC members Kim Day and Maree Robinson. The delighted winners are shown below with Charity Day Convener, Vivienne Overton.

In addition the Main Bar area was transformed into a Bridge tournament, where 80 ladies enjoyed morning tea and bridge, before adjourning to the Bistro for lunch. They then returned to the Bar area for an afternoon of bridge.
The Charity Day was a tremendous success with approximately $31,000 being raised. These funds will be donated to the following worthwhile children’s charities: Parkerville Children and Youth Care, The ICEA (Indigenous Communities Education & Awareness) Foundation, and True Blue Dreaming.
After a delicious lunch, great excitement mounted as the various raffles were drawn, culminating in the drawing of the “Rottnest Island Golfers Package” which was won by one of the visitors, Lynda Seetsen (of 41 The Anchorage Maylands WA) from The Seabirds Club at Hamersley Golf Course.
Appreciation goes to all the LKCC lady members who provided goods for the various stalls and raffles, the Charity Day Committee who worked tirelessly throughout a long day, and the staff of LKCC who were just fantastic in their assistance.
It was delightful to receive so many compliments about our fantastic course and the quality of the food provided. Many golfers make the most of this opportunity to play our Course, including a bus load of players from Mandurah enjoying a full day’s outing.
