Finals fever had taken over Lake Karrinyup last week with 4 of the Men’s Metropolitan Pennant team’s teeing it up in their respective finals on Sunday the 2nd of August. The Division 8 team ably led by Oliver Bradshaw had the tough task of taking on Kwinana Golf Club at Mosman Park at the early time of 8:00am.With many of
the team in attendance at the club dinner the previous night this was indeed a demanding task.
Captain Oliver Bradshaw led the team out at the number 7 position. He had inspected all areas of the golf course including many of the trees in the practice round and put this knowledge to good use accounting for his opponent 2 and 1. He attributed his success to his caddy Nick Croston who managed to get to the venue just in time to watch Oli play his final hole. Stephen Hauville, Greg Hortle and John Brennan won their
matches with ease despite having to give their opponents a number of shots. This was enough matches to secure the Division 8 pennant title for 2015. Ryan Epstein made sure of the victory winning his match 3
and 2 as the number 1 player. This capped off a magnificent season for the Division 8 team which is a tight knit outfit. The team are not only outstanding representatives of the club but also share and develop friendships with a number of the opponents that they face. Congratulations to this deserving team.
The other pennant teams were in action at the Royal Perth Golf Club through out the afternoon.
