PRESENTATION OF CHARITY DAY PROCEEDS TO OUR CHOSEN CHARITIES
On Thursday August 27th, following our Golf Presentations, the Ladies of Lake Karrinyup presented the proceeds of the hugely successful Charity Day to the three chosen Charities.
Basil Hanna from Parkerville was presented with a cheque for $14,000 by this year’s Charity Day Convenor, Vivienne Overton. LKCC has been donating to Parkerville since 1935 and Basil advised that the funds this year will go towards making a documentary on the services Parkerville offers to the young people who come from unfortunate backgrounds, some of whom have suffered abuse.
Dr James Fitzpatrick who is the Founder and Board Member of True Blue Dreaming was presented with a cheque for $9,000 by Viv. James eloquently spoke of the history of True Blue Dreaming and charmed the ladies by reading a poem he had written. James was accompanied by Bob Southwell, CEO and True Blue Board Member Richard Pengelly.
Tom Joyner the new CEO of ICEA was also presented with a cheque for $9,000 by Viv and Tom spoke of his connection to LKCC through his grandparents and also of the work ICEA does.
