The inaugural White Party took place on Friday 8th April with a sell-out crowd of 250 members and their guests.
Everyone embraced the ‘goodbye to summer’ vibe and the Terrace looked incredible, with the lights shimmering and some vintage VW’s setting the scene. Champagne flowed freely as we relaxed and chatted with golfing friends and other guests. Everyone looked gorgeous, with fashions ranging from sequinned ball gowns to lace cocktail dresses, bodycon to loose summer cotton sheaths… and the men in crisp blazers and comfortable linen shirts.
When the band started playing, there was no stopping the dancing! It was impossible to resist such a sensational band and suddenly everyone was flashing their best disco moves. Rehydrating with a Mojito between sets at the cocktail bar, then back on the dance floor! The crowd never thinned – the next song was always your favourite – and when Daren Reid & The Soul City Groove called time, everyone was loathe to go home.
Thanks to Chef Dean and his staff who prepared a fabulous array of cocktail style fork food with plenty of wood-fired pizzas too and a magnificent cheese table on display in the bar. Thanks also to our Food & Beverage Manager Romana and her wonderful team who did an amazing job leading up to and during the event. And a big thank you to Tarn Hede from the Social Committee for the enormous amount of time and effort she put in to this event.
It was a fantastic party which will be talked about for a long time and a credit to the organisers on the Social Committee and the Club.
