The annual Legacy golf day and luncheon took place on Sunday 24th April with 84 playing golf and 91 enjoying the luncheon afterwards.
The mixed Canadian foursomes event was won by Elliot Mitchell & Hannah Thomson with 41 points with last year’s victors Jon Clancy & Marnie Brown coming runners-up with 37 points.
Special guests at the luncheon were President of Perth Legacy Rob Ratkovcic and Senior Vice-President James Ford. James gave a very enlightening speech about the history and tireless work that Legacy do. Rob very kindly presented the Club with a framed Centenary ANZAC shirt which formed part of the Governor’s carpark auction prize with the winning bidder getting use of the carpark for 12 months and also retaining the ANZAC memorabilia with the money going directly to Perth Legacy.
The Legacy Day raffle was drawn after the golf presentations and John Whyte was the lucky winner with a $1,000 travel voucher and 3 nights’ accommodation at Broome’s Cable Beach Resort. In all, 18 prizes were won and most importantly, our target of $20,000 was once again raised on the day, with all the proceeds being donated directly to Perth Legacy.
