After the wild storms the day before, 98 members took part in the Men’s Winter Cup on Sunday 22nd May. The course staff did an outstanding job clearing the major debris and preparing the course for the early morning start. Blustery conditions saw Fraser McGinn having the best morning round with 3up on a countback and then following lunch, John Andretich had an impressive afternoon round of 4up. At the end of the day, Gavin Steinberg was the outright winner (on a countback from Matt Campbell) with an impressive 3up in wintery conditions. Joseph Owen won the best gross with square and Tibor von Karlowitz was presented the “Oscar” by last years’ recipient Stephen Seaward. A great day was had by all in this traditional 36 hole men’s event.
