On Sunday 20th August the annual 36 Hole PAR event The Winter Cup was played in perfect conditions for all that bravely attempting the brutal walk of 36 Holes.
A number of great scores were recorded throughout the day but none better than very popular winner Paul Cribbon on a fantastic score of +6 (+5,+1) just one shot clear of runner up Tim Knight on great score of +5 (+3,+2).
Alistair Croll +1 & Tristan Kirkham Square also had scores recorded over the 36 holes together with Scott Bailey achieving best AM Round +2 , David Butler the best PM Round with +3 and Peter Robinson having the Best Gross over 36 Holes.
Nearest to Pins were Mike Razza (5th) which also was a Hole in One , Congratulations Mike, then Heath Gillard (8th), Tristan Kirkham (12th) and Matt Allen (17th).
There was also one further achievement that is very special to the Winter Cup, The “Oscar”, this is awarded to the individual that tried the hardest over the 36 Holes but unfortunately found themselves at the bottom of the leader board.
This year 4 players were tied on the bottom of the leaderboard on a score which we will keep quiet but was eventually won by Con Barron who I think by the picture was very pleased to receive a trophy!
