The annual Blairgowrie Jubilee Mixed Foursomes Championship took place on Sunday 17th September with 72 participants taking part. This event celebrates the unique reciprocal relationship between Blairgowrie Golf Club (located in Perthshire, Scotland) and LKCC.
Players were greeted on arrival and each were given a packet of Scottish butterscotch to enjoy on the golf course. The eventual winners on the day were Nick Curnow and Jennifer Herbst (Gross Championship winners 77 gross) and Lee and Jenn Rewell (Handicap Nett winners 65 nett). A delicious luncheon was served in the Dining Room and there were even some beautiful highland dancers to entertain the crowd. Following lunch, Gary Thomson moved everyone to the Terrace where he explained the rules of the Wellie Throwing Competition! Jack Oswald was the official judge and the outright winner was John Brennan with Paul Simpson coming last after somehow managing to throw the wellington boot backwards, over his head and landing on the roof!
