Extraordinary General Meeting – Change to Financial Year End

We would like to thank the 51 members who attended the Extraordinary General Meeting at the Club on Thursday 23rd November.

President John Hanly welcomed all of those in attendance and Treasurer Brent Steedman provided an explanation in regard to the Resolutions being put forward to change the Club’s Financial Year from January 1 – December 31 to September 1 – August 31.

The various issues around the end of Financial Year being end of December and the additional pressure of having to hold the AGM in the first week of March were summarised in the Notice of Meeting circulated to all members prior to the meeting (click here).

Members were asked to vote and all of those eligible members present, voted unanimously in favour of the Motion.

2018 will therefore be a short Financial Year with subscriptions being issued for a period of 8 months. A full 12 month’s Subscriptions will then be invoiced from 1st September 2018 to 31st August 2019.

The Club’s AGM will be held on the 8th March 2018 and the next one would be held within 4 months of the start to the new Financial Year, most likely early to mid-November.  All Officers and Committee members elected at the March AGM will be elected for an 8 month period. Opening Days will be unaffected and will continue in their normal time slots in March.
