Men’s Captain’s Prize

The Captains prize for Captain John Wallace attracted a great field on Saturday the 9th of June, all attempting to take out the this prestigious LKCC event.

The day’s best score was posted in the morning by another John,  John Andretich,  with a fantastic score of +6, one shot clear of Tony Thornett, Russell Scott & Tony Poustie on a great score of +5 . John took home a magnificent Royal Doulton Decanter Set and bottle of Glenmorangie single malt scotch whiskey to enjoy, generously provided by our Captain.  Congratulations John.

Acknowledging the 2 Johns we move to the 2 Rods ! Rod Moore achieving the ultimate dream for any golfers for a second time, a Hole in One on the difficult 8th Hole and Rod Sproule achieving the same feat for the first time on the difficult 11th. I think the argument of who holed out last to obtain the traditional ‘Hole in One Mug’ is still ongoing. Well Done Rod & Rod.

Following the fantastic effort by John Andretich to win the trophy, Hole in One recipients cheered by all and traditional address from our Captain John Wallace, the equally important past captains of our club together with LKCC members that have served as Captains of any golf club were called upon and recognized by the members for their contributions to the club with the traditional toast.

After 3 renditions of ‘For he’s a Jolly Good Fellow’ and toasts to match, it’s safe to say the members in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the end of a wonderful Captains Prize for 2018.
