On Sunday 19th August the annual 36 Hole PAR event, The Winter Cup, was played in perfect conditions for all that bravely attempted the brutal walk of 36 Holes.
A number of great scores were recorded throughout the day but none better than very popular winner Gavin Steinberg on a fantastic score of +5 (0,+5). Gavin was two shots clear of runner up and playing partner Heath Gillard on a great score of +3 (+1,+2) on a count back from recent Karrinyup Cup winner Steve Palframan also on +3 (+3,0) over the 36 Holes.
Peter Webse +1 & Jim Crockett, Glenn Bond & Garry Kurtz Square also had solid scores recorded over the 36 holes. Steve Palframan achieved best AM Round with +3 & John Wallace the best PM Round with +2 , John also having the Best Gross over 36 Holes.
The traditional “Oscar” for the hardest tryer went to David Bignold.
A very big Congratulations to Gavin for winning this major event now for a second time in 2 years.
