The 10th Annual Western Australian Golf Industry Gala Awards Dinner took place on Friday 8th March 2019 at the Perth Convention and Entertainment Centre.
Lake Karrinyup was nominated for Metropolitan Golf Course of the Year and Metropolitan Golf Facility of the Year. Proudly we won these two categories – Metro Golf Course recognises excellence in golf course design, layout, shot making, course improvements during the year and overall championship condition. All nominating facilities were located within the Metro area – Collier Park, Kwinana, Mandurah CC, Wanneroo, Wembley and LKCC. The Metro Golf Facility of the Year Award recognises a facility which has shown a high standard of performance across a number of areas in 2018. This award is judged primarily on Membership retention and growth; Financial performance Clubhouse Operations; Golf Course Operations; Contribution to the Community and Participation and number of rounds. Finalists in this category were Mount Lawley, Wanneroo, Wembley and LKCC.
Our very own Di Tomlin and Max Hannah were awarded the 2018 WA Golf Industry Recognition Award, which was in recognition of a person’s significant contribution to the game of golf in Western Australia and Australia.
We are proud to advise that our very own Mike Lewis was nominated for Volunteer of the Year, a person whose efforts have been significantly beneficial to the management and maintenance of the facility. This person may be involved in such tasks as on-course work, Match Committee duties, administration or a Board Director. The work this person has contributed to the facility is recognised as selfless, constructive and profitable for the facility, Congratulations to Mike Lewis on his nomination in this category and for his tireless efforts in contributing to the club’s Constitution rewrite over the past 5 years.
