Round 7 Pennant Blogs

Division One – Played against Royal Perth at Wanneroo Golf Club
Played at wanneroo in good conditions a little icy but much better for our golf games…
The games were hard fought all morning with only 1 or 2 holes in the matches .  Regina and I were pleased with the way you all applied yourselves to get the job done.. We ended up losing 4/3 to Royal Perth but it was in the balance until the end when Robyn went to the 19th…Good effort ladies .. very pleased with our wins from Peta Jennifer and our baby Sheridan..
We were extremely proud of the way our juniors presented themselves on the courses, remembering it is only a game and there is so much to learn from these experiences but the main lesson is “GOOD SPORTMANSHIP ” and I am pleased to say the whole team displayed
This…Can I just say it has been a pleasure to have shared these weeks with you all, thank you for giving up your time for our special Club..

Division Two – Played against Melville Glades at WA Golf Club
This week we played our final match at WAGC against Melville Glades. We were fortunate as the weather did cooperate for us this week, but unfortunately a number of players had been struck down by illness, which meant last minute reshuffling of the team. The ladies fought hard but were up against a very experienced Melville Glades side.  We started off well with two wins from our number 6 (Anne Marie- Tsaknis) and number 7 (Jill Dorrington) players, but just fell short losing two matches on the 18th, with the final result 2/5 down.
Though it’s been a difficult season for the Division 2 team I am extremely proud of all players and have thoroughly enjoyed this season.  Throughout you have all put your best effort in and supported one another no matter what the result.
Thank you to all players and caddies for your support and dedication to our team and thanks to Peta Roberts for filling in as NPC in my absence.

Division Four – Played against Royal Perth at Mount Lawley Golf Club
Well…well… well… WE DID IT!!
Winners of the 2019 Women’s Division 4 Pennant is none other than the ‘Super-team’ from LKCC.
There were two things that had to happen in order for us to finish on top today – LKCC had to win and WAGC had to lose. We knew we had control over only one of these factors, so just knuckled down and took care of business.
Not that it wasn’t an absolute nail-biter… we were up, then down, then teetering and had to wait until the last player completed the final hole to snatch the victory. Waiting beside that 18th green we all (except the final player) knew that WAGC had already lost badly to Mt Lawley.
And then there it was – the flag for 2019… and the ‘crowd’ went wild!!
I dubbed these special group of players and caddies the ‘Super-team’ after the very first round, and they proved themselves to be just that!
CONGRATULATIONS!!
Regina (a very proud NPC)
