2019 Winter Cup

On Sunday 7th July the 2019 Winter Cup was played over 36 holes in beautiful conditions, with not a drop of rain in sight.

With an excellent PM round score of +4, Gordon Gow took out the 2019 Winter Cup, finishing with +2 (-2, +4) on a countback to Robin Rindel (0, +2).

After the completion of the morning round, 2-time winner Gavin Steinberg was once again in the lead with a score of +1 and took out the best AM score on a count back to Andrew Morris and Ying Li. Richard Pawluk was the PM round winner with +3 and Joseph Owen was the 36 hole gross winner with 141 off the stick (-1).

Nearest to Pins were won by Andrew Van Bentum (5th), Roy William (8th), David Blacker (12th) and Mark Simmonds (17th).

There was one further achievement that is unique to the Winter Cup, “The Oscar”. This prestigious award is presented to the individual that tried their hardest over the 36 Holes but unfortunately found themselves at the bottom of the leader board. This year, the Oscar went to Glen Matyear on a score which we will keep quiet!
