After the beautiful spring weather, we were able to enjoy over the qualifying, quarter finals and semi-finals, we were not so fortunate today. Even though players were faced with some challenging weather conditions this morning, some amazing golf was witnessed over each division played. Congratulations to all players who made it through to the final matches today. A special congratulations to Denise Cramer and Wendy Griffiths who have never played match play before and were victorious in their respective categories.
The North Course Championship was an extremely close match played between Stella Busch and Liz Caren with Liz being the eventual winner on the 19th hole. After both coming back from injuries over the past year an amazing feat by both ladies.
The Silver Championship match was played over 27 holes this year with equally deserving players vying for the top spot in A Grade. Dy Fripp was the eventual winner to Vicki Malone, winning in extra holes on the 28th.
The Championship match was played between two very talented young members of Lake Karrinyup, Jen Herbst and Sheridan Clancy. After both qualifying 1 and 2 respectively, the 36-hole Championship came down to the final two holes. During the match spectators were treated to some fantastic golf and were amazed at the grace and talent of these youngsters. Jen Herbst was the eventual winner, taking out the match 2 and 1 on the 35th hole. Congratulations girls on your great golf throughout these Championships!
