220 members and their guests enjoyed a fabulous New Year’s Eve at Lake Karrinyup on the 31st December. Everyone was welcomed on arrival, receiving a complimentary cocktail and proceeding to find a comfy seat or lounge in the Cuban Havana Nights themed courtyard and surrounds.
The four piece Cuban band “Cafe & Rumba” had the dance floor full with their music being very well received. Cuban themed food stations operated throughout the evening and the food was absolutely delicious. Compliments to our Executive Chef Jonny and his hardworking team for the food on the night.
The bar staff were kept busy all night with plenty of cocktail making, wine pouring and many other refreshments. During the evening the lucky door pirze was drawn and Tony O’Shea’s brother, Bernie, was the lucky winner of a LKCC bubbly hamper. Bernie then had the honor of the first crack at the Pinata, ably assisted on the pole by Greg Lott and Heath Gillard. Bernie managed to smash the Pinata open after two attempts, spilling lollies all over the dance floor! DJ Paula then took the reins for the night, mixing some great dance music which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
Complimentary champagne was served just before midnight, where the countdown commenced and everyone wished each other all the very best for a safe, happy & healthy year ahead in 2021! Thanks to Jonny and his team, David and Romana & their team and to Sally and the Social Committee for decorating the Cuban Havana Nights party!!!! Happy New Year to everyone.
