Congratulations LKCC and Sue Mazzurra

Lake Karrinyup Country Club was lucky enough to be voted the Metropolitan Golf Facility of the Year Award for 2020. The club was represented by our ladies’ President, Damon and senior staff when the award was announced at the Golf WA Gala Awards night at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday 26^th March.

The criteria that we were required to meet when submitting the nomination was Membership retention and growth; Financial performance; Clubhouse operations; Golf Course operations; Contribution to the Community; Participation and number of rounds and Strategies successfully implemented through Covid-19. We were delighted to win this award with Wembley Golf Complex coming second to Lake Karrinyup.

We are also very proud to announce that Sue Mazzurra took out the prestigious Employee of the Year Award 2020 on the same night. As you may know, Sue has been employed at Lake Karrinyup for almost 40 years. Alex Monteath first employed Sue, followed Gary Thomas and our current General Manager, Damon Lonnie. The criteria for this award is for a staff member whose efforts have been significantly above their specific employment description. Their performance throughout the year will have been recognised as beneficial to the running of the golf facility. They will have provided initiative and service leading to an improved product for their fellow golfers.

Lake Karrinyup was also nominated for the Metropolitan Golf Course of the Year Award however we were disappointed that this award went to Cottesloe Golf Club. The Metropolitan Golf Course of the Year recognises excellence in golf course design, layout, shot making, course improvements during the year and overall championship condition. All nominating facilities are located within the Metropolitan area of Western Australia as per GolfWA Regulations. Congratulations to Fraser and his team of dedicated workers on their great achievements in presenting our course in world class condition.

A big congratulations to goes to Sue, and of course, the entire staff and management team of our great facility that we have here at Lake Karrinyup Country Club. Be sure to congratulate Sue when you next see her.
