Club History Book Launch

Over 130 members, VIP’s and guests enjoyed the Club History Book Launch in the main bar last night – “Our People Courses and Traditions”.

After 9 years in the making, our History book has been published, leather-bound and printed.  The cocktail party on the 15th April  was a fabulous evening to launch the book and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event.  Our General Manager, Damon Lonnie, welcomed everyone and introduced President, Graeme Pepper to the lecturn who gave some background into the history and work put into the book.  Course Architect, Michael Clayton, took the stage and gave such an interesting insight into our course, comparing it to Augusta!  Mike was a major contributor to the book, writing most of Chapter 10 with a detailed description of each hole on both the Main Course and the North Course.

Renowned author and golf writer, Paul Daley, was welcomed to the microphone and gave a very interesting and comprehensive speech about his journey with Lake Karrinyup, its members, the staff and his time with our Archives Sub-Committee.  He thanked Brenda and Alex Cleave for their generous hospitality over the many years with his frequent trips to WA to work on the book.

Paul, Mike and Alex were presented with gift-boxed glassware as a token of the Club’s appreciation after which time, both Paul and Mike autographed books for those who either purchased on the night or bought theirs along with them for signature.

If you haven’t yet purchased a book, feel free to drop into the office for a copy and we will charge your account accordingly ($75).   A lot of members paid for a book when they paid their subscriptions last year and haven’t yet collected their copy – if this is you, just drop in to the office at any time and pick up your copy.
