The Vice-Captain’s Trophy was played on Saturday 12th June with 254 players taking their place in the field.
The challenge was set with Black and White tees being available and after an impressive 67 off the stick (39 points) in the morning, Simon Liddell was pipped at the post by Stephen Brooke who birdied the 10th, one of his last holes of the day, to win with 40 points.
Honours were paid to Mr Stephen Moloney at the conclusion of both morning and afternoon rounds, with Captain Phil Grice proposing a toast to Stephen at lunchtime. Mr Geoff Piper then lead the toast to Mr Stepehn Moloney during the PM presentations, giving great insight into Stephen’s golfing history and abilities.
A great day was had by all as the evening concluded with a shout for the bar and a sterling rendition of For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow.
