Successful Legacy Day @ LKCC

Sunday 27th June 2021 was the annual Legacy Golf Day and Luncheon.  96 members and their guests played golf, and despite the initial forecast for inclement wet weather, the morning saw some wind and a couple of showers, but the worst of the weather stayed away.

112 people then enjoyed a lovely luncheon in the main bar where the President from Legacy WA, Matt Granger, gave a short insight into the work that Legacy WA do, after being introduced by the Female Members’ President, Sheila Klimczyk.  Following the lunch, Captain Phil Grice and Vice-Captain Amanda Lekias presented the prizes for the golf event with Trish Hoile and George Fowler being the outright winners with  43 points.  Shiralee and Aaron McCracken were the runners-up with 42 points on a countback.  To view the full prize presentation list, including the nearest the pins, please click here.

The President of Legacy WA, Viv Blycha assisted our General Manager, Damon Lonnie, with the drawing of the raffles and 20 lucky members were drawn out of the barrel.  To view a full list of the raffle winners,  please click here.  All 2,000 tickets were sold raising $20,000.  Following on from the raffle draw, Damon opened up the bidding for the auction prizes that had pre-bids from members and thanks to those present, these items raised an amazing $7,225.  Thanks to Jim van der Meer who now has the exclusive use of the Governor’s carpark for 12 months, Craig Ridge who purchased the Grange, Jim and Jeanette McInearney who will spend 3 nights’ in the Cape Naturaliste holiday house, Jack Oswald who bid for the Margaret River Golf Club voucher and John Bandy who took home the Robert Wade print.

With the raffle ticket sales, the auctions and other donations from members, we are delighted to announce that the total amount raised by Lake Karrinyup was $32,225, all of which will be donated to Legacy WA.  Thank you to all who purchased tickets, donated prizes and other items  – we are very grateful, as are Legacy WA.
