The 2021 Jubilee Foursomes took place at Lake Karrinyup Country Club on Sunday 10th October with 53 pairings teeing it up. The event is played as 36 holes of foursomes stroke, a format that can test the strongest of friendships.
The day annually kicks off with the traditional early morning breakfast comprising of all the regular breakfast items along with a few delicacies.
Some players struggled to adapt to the foursomes format, however, Wayne Goldspink and Ian Francis had no such issues, posting a nett 70 to lead the morning field as club house leader.
After enjoying a buffet lunch and some refreshments, the players went back out to try and improve on their morning scores. Gavin Friedlieb and Ashley Walker were the only pairing to break 70 for the day, posting a great score of 69.5 to be the Best Nett for round 2.
With the Greens running firm and true, three-time winners (1992, 2017 & 2019) Haydn Chrystal and Ian Campbell were masterful in handling the conditions. They were consistent all day, following up a 72 in the morning with a 73 in the afternoon (145 total) to win the Karrinyup Jug and the 2021 Jubilee Foursomes title. The best of the rest was Jules Harris and John Raitt, who were three shots back on 148 (78-70) to finish Runners Up.
Haydn Chrystal and Ian Campbell also won the best gross over 36 holes with a total of 159.
Well done to Haydn Chrystal and Ian Campbell on winning the Jubilee Foursomes for a fourth time.
