The 2021 Women’s Championship and Handicap Foursomes took place at Lake Karrinyup on Thursday 14th October.
On the North Course, it was great to see 24 pairs take part, many of whom were playing the Foursomes format for the first time. The North Course Foursomes event is played over 18 holes. Experience would prove crucial, with last year’s runners up Leone Lorian and Henriette Maron combining well to go one better and win the North Course Foursomes with a great score of 83 off the stick. Jennifer Hawkins and Sue Grenside were Runners Up, finishing two shots back. There score was good enough to win the Best Nett for the day (60).

We had 30 pairs in the Handicap Foursomes played on the Main Course and we congratulate Dianne Tomlin and Lesley Meaney, who won the Handicap Foursomes with a great score of 72.5. They were closely followed by Brenda Earnshaw and Rosamund Poustie who had a 73.5.
The Championship Foursomes (Gross event), which is played over 36 holes had 27 pairs take part this year. Following the morning round, three pairs were in the hunt for the Championship Foursomes title, with only two strokes separating Robyn Lamb and Carmen Palframan (80), Sheridan Clancy and Peta Roberts (80), and Joanne Ford and Judy Malone (82).
Having finished runners up last year, Carmen Palframan and Robyn Lamb were determined to go one better, and that they did. They maintained their consistency throughout the afternoon round, posting an 81 for a total of 161 to win by three shots over the pairing of this year’s Club Championship finalists Sheridan Clancy and Peta Roberts.
The Best Nett over the 36 Holes went to Susan Teo and Julie Cawthray, who won on a countback with a score of 149.
Congratulations to all winners and well done to everyone who took part in this year’s Foursomes Championships.
