On Sunday 17th October, the Bill Plowman Trophy was contested between the Junior members of Lake Karrinyup and Royal Perth at Lake Karrinyup.
The format for the competition is 4BBB Par, which follows in line with the Dixie Clement that is held on the same day between the two clubs.
The Bill Plowman Trophy is named in honour of William Paxton Plowman, who has a long-standing tradition with both Lake Karrinyup Country Club and Royal Perth.
Bill Plowman joined Lake Karrinyup Country Club in 1958, aged 18 years old.
He was a member of both LKCC & RPGC for over 50 years. During that time, he has been instrumental in growing and developing the junior programs at both Lake Karrinyup and Royal Perth.
To honour and celebrate his contribution to both clubs, the Bill Plowman Trophy is contested on an annual basis.
There was some great golf played by both clubs. Most notably for Lake Karrinyup, Isobel Dorrington and Harriet Keenan combined for 9up, Sheridan Clancy and Natalja Brennan had 7up, with Ryan Gault and Lachlan Pastor shooting 6up.
The juniors of Lake Karrinyup made the most of the home advantage, recording a ‘whitewash’ 6-0 victory against Royal Perth. With last years event being a tie at Royal Perth, Lake Karrinyup retains the Bill Plowman trophy for the third year in a row.
Well done to all juniors who took part in this annual event.
