Men’s Championship and Handicap Foursomes Results

The Men’s Championship and Handicap Foursomes took place at Lake Karrinyup on Sunday 7th November.

A total of 76 members participated in this 36-hole event.

The windy conditions throughout the day made scoring tough in both the morning and afternoon rounds.

In the Championship Foursomes (Gross), the pairing of Peter Robinson and John Wallace, who are multiple winners of this event (2015 and 2017) played consistently all day to shoot an 80 81 (161). They would finish Runners Up by two strokes, with the pairing of Matthew Bowra and Joseph Owen taking out their first Championship Foursomes title as a pair. Matthew Bowra had won the event in 2019 (with Travis Temm), meanwhile it was the first time Joseph Owen has won this event. Bowra and Owen shot a 77 82 (159).

Meanwhile in the Handicap Foursomes, last year’s winners Alistair Croll and Alan Rule put themselves in a great position to defend their title after posting a net 70.5 in the morning to sit as clubhouse leaders. A 78.5 in the afternoon narrowly put them out of contention.

Jules Harris and David Lewis combined for a 72 75 (147) to win the Handicap Foursomes by 1 shot. Mr Harris’s win in the Handicap Foursomes adds to his Championship Foursomes title back in 2010.

Ying Li and Naish Zhang were Runners Up on a Countback (148) from Ross Cooperwhite and Andrew Stone.

Congratulations to all winners and thank you to all members who took part in this year’s event.
