Champagne golf took place on Sunday 21st November (this was the 20th year that this event has been taking place), a fun filled 9 hole, 6 player Ambrose with some quirky novelty holes, like “hit the champagne bottle” putting competition. Each player got the chance to putt 3 balls to hit the bottle or French Champagne. A larger than life picture of Ryan Fox was halfway down the driving range so all participants had the opportunity to have 3 shots at hitting the target.
90 players (including 29 guests) took part playing around the North Course. This great event allowed complete beginners to try the wonderful, but frustrating game off golf.
The morning began with a delightful buffet breakfast poolside along with a few mimosas to get the heart started. The siren sounded at 10.30am and 9 holes of fun golf commenced on the North Course. The drinks cart was in big demand as it was a warm morning and there were some thirsty golfers out there. Presentations and prize giving took place in the courtyard post-golf with many choosing to take the opportunity to stay on for lunch given the lovely weather.
