After several years of covid related cancellations we were delighted to finally have Mike Cocking and Ashley Mead from course architects OCM, onsite on Wednesday 4th May. The Course & Surrounds committee met with Mike and Ashley to discuss various topics such as the practice facilities and the Course Improvement Plan but our main priority was a focussed discussion on our bunkers.
In the afternoon Mike, Ashley, Chris Schrape, Gavin Burt and Fraser Brown walked the courses and practice facilities assessing each area but again focussing on our bunkers. It was a very productive day with very clear and defined issues identified and solutions proposed and discussed. In the coming weeks OCM will provide us with a report detailing the recommendations they have for our bunkers and over the winter months these works will be carried out in house or by OCM and their team of shapers depending on the size and complexity of the task. More detail will be available to Members once the report from OCM is received.
