Following the postponement of the Women’s Opening Day back on the 10th March, well over 200 women were delighted to be playing in their Opening Day on Thursday 5th May. Perfect weather welcomed 166 women to the Main Course and a further 51 to the North Course for the Fourball Stableford event.
Following a lovely day of golf, presentations took place in the Main Bar where the Female Members’ President, Ainslie Cartwright welcomed all of those in attendance. Club President, Geoff Anderson, also addressed the room which was well received by all.
The Female Members’ Captain, Amanda Lekias announced the winners and place getters for the Daisy Savage Opening Day. The popular winners of the day on a countback with a fabulous score of 48 points were Annie Caldwell and Jo Wiseman. Daisy Savage’s grand-daughter, Valerie Lapinski proudly presented the ladies with their trophy and they responded with a lovely speech. The Runners up were Josephine Jones and Shirene Paxton, with Janet Williams and Jill Larritt winning the North Course Opening Day. Congratulations to Isobel Dorrington for her Eagle on the 16th.
