Highly Successful Women's Charity Day - Lake Karrinyup Country Club

Another very successful Charity Day was held on Thursday 21 July thanks to a lovely team of ladies from Lake Karrinyup.

The courtyard was set-up with stalls including craft, pre-loved golf clothing, lucky dip, sock raffle, wine raffle, cakes, jams and preserves and taro card reading along with 20 raffles to enter. The ladies took over the Grill kitchen to provide a spectacular morning tea to 360 guests, golfers and bridge players.

The main course had 130 ladies playing and the north course with 34 players. This year saw 33 clubs participate in our charity day. Bridge also took place in the main bar with a record 112 players.

Winners of the golf competition were also presented with their prizes –

Main Course

1^st – Tracy Silbert (LKCC) & Sharon Horak (Royal Perth) 32 pts

2^nd – Rhona Brooksbank (Golf Bags Society) & Judy Bailey (Royal Fremantle)

North Course

1^st – Miyuki Ito and Yuriko Nakata ( both Perth Golf Network) 35 pts

2^nd – Suzanne Watt & Diane Hintz ( both Sea View GC)

A fabulous lunch was enjoyed by 280 ladies at which time the raffles were drawn and sponsors were thanked. There are three things I believe that make LKCC Charity Day so special. Raising money for children’s charities and this year it is estimated that over $50,000 (final amount still to be confirmed) was raised for Parkerville Children and Youth, Spectrum Space and Ngala. It is also sharing the clubhouse and course that we love, and are so proud of, with members of other clubs. The third being the friendships and fun that comes with being involved with this event. A big thank you to all of the ladies who contributed to making this day such a success. Thank you to the 63 volunteers on the day, the gentlemen who assisted in the carpark and on the course, to all of our generous sponsors and donors (attached) and of course the very helpful staff at Lake Karrinyup.
