LOCKSLEY HALL TROPHY

On Saturday 11th March our 2023 LKCC golfing season commenced with one of our most popular mixed events of the year, Mixed Opening Day for the Locksley Hall Trophy.

With a beautiful sunny 31 degree day welcoming members the day got off to the perfect start, and a sense of excitement in the air to celebrate the opening of our season for 2023 with a capacity field of 128 players playing Mixed Canadian Foursomes Stroke.

Following a free flowing afternoon around our beautifully prepared Championship Main Course, even a refresher beverage stop along the way on the 8th tee, the eventual winners of the 2023 Locksley Hall Trophy were Iain Burnet and Felicity Peters with a great score of 69.25, two strokes clear of Craig & Susie Williams on 71.25. Congratulations Iain and Felicity!

Nearest to Pins were Sharon Cork (5th), Ian Dorrington (8th), Anne Marie Tsaknis (12th), Stephen Moloney (17th) and Best Gross for the afternoon with a score of 80 on a countback was Ian Campbell and Marie Intini.

Following the event, President Geoff Anderson provided a very well-spoken opening of the season address and night culminating in a celebration dinner and entertainment in the LKCC Dining Room.

This week the opening of the season celebrations roll on with the Women’s Opening Day for the Daisy Savage Trophy on Thursday and Men’s Opening Day for the Chalice Pairs on Saturday.
