Visit to Parkerville

On Thursday 22nd February Maureen Harman and I were lucky enough to attend morning tea at the offices of Parkerville Children and Youth Care in Midland where LKCC has a consulting room named in honour of the Club – a tribute to the support provided by the funds raised at the annual Women’s Charity Day since 1937.

We were pleased to be able to present them with a print of our beautiful course which will be displayed in the LKCC Consulting Room. One of the graduates of the Education, Employment and Training (EET), Jonah, was also in attendance to do the honours and hang the print on the wall but, unfortunately, we could not access the room on the day as it was in use for its intended purpose. It was lovely to catch up with Jonah again (some of you may remember him from the Parkerville video last year) and find out how he has progressed since leaving Parkerville.

Jonah is so grateful for the help and support provided by Parkerville and does not know where he would be without it. He is only one of many young people helped by the dedicated team at Parkerville, who in turn are extremely grateful for the financial assistance that we provide – let’s do our best again to raise as much as we can for this worthy cause at this year’s Charity Day to be held on Thursday 13th June.
