The Women’s President’s Trophy in honour of Female Members’ President Regina Gaujers, was held on Thursday, 4th July and one of the Female Members’ major and prestigious events of the year.
Despite it being mid-winter, the conditions were superb, but scoring conditions were tough. Support for Regina was characterised by the great field sizes across the Main and North Courses kicking off with shotgun starts.
For the Main Course and taking home a very lovely hamper provided by Regina was Judith Malone ending the day on 39 points, 2 points clear of runner up Judy O’Rourke on a great score of 37. Amanda Lekias and Marie Intini were next best on 36 points followed by several players on 35 points. Isobel Dorrington finished the day with the best gross of 34 points, 6 over par.
On the North Course, Henriette Maron finished the best with 35 points, edging out Rae Douglass on count back. The pair were only 1 point clear of 3rd place Chris Tardrew on 34 points.
Both Judith and Henriette praised their putters for getting them across the line.
After being wonderfully addressed by Female Members’ President, Regina, the afternoon also provided an opportunity to congratulate recent great scores with two Hole In Ones made by Valerie Lapinski and Laurel Meyers, two eagles by Jane Abbott and Carmen Palframan and one of the rarest of birds, an albatross had by Isobel Dorrington on the 2nd hole in May.
Congratulations to all winners from a great President’s Trophy for 2024 and a big thank you to Regina for being a wonderful Female Members’ President and your significant contribution to LKCC.
