Last week, a group of Lake Karrinyup members travelled to the United Kingdom to participate in the Lucifer Tournament, a series of long-standing and prestigious fixtures hosted by the Lucifer Golfing Society.
Played across some of the UK’s most revered courses, the matches bring together golfers from across the Commonwealth in a celebration of tradition, sportsmanship and international camaraderie.
A standout moment from this year’s events was Alistair Croll’s exceptional performance, earning him the Commonwealth Tournament Trophy—a distinguished honour first introduced in 1928 and one of the most historic prizes within the Society. Alistair returned two strong rounds, carding 35 points in Round 1 and 40 points in Round 2, for a winning total of 75 points.
Rounding out a memorable week for Lake Karrinyup, Chris Pugh captured the Douglas Bader Trophy—a prize steeped in history, first established in memory of RAF legend and Lucifer winner Douglas Bader, who famously had a devil-figure match struck into its top in 1956. Chris secured the win with a combined total of 66 points across two rounds.
