Players were welcomed to the course by the stirring sound of bagpipes, setting a distinctly Scottish tone as they warmed up. Members also enjoyed Scottish whisky on course, adding to the atmosphere and sense of occasion.

As players returned from their round, they were once again greeted by the piper before celebrations continued with Ceilidh entertainment, creating a lively and festive conclusion to the golfing action.

The Blairgowrie Trophy Gross Championship was once again claimed by Janice Gaudet and Simon Bennison with a score of 98. The Handicap Nett Championship was won by Aaron and Shiralee McCracken with a Nett score of 72. Both the Gross and Handicap winners are engraved on the trophy each year.

The Blairgowrie Trophy celebrates the unique reciprocal relationship between Lake Karrinyup Country Club and Blairgowrie Golf Club, located at Rosemount in Perthshire, approximately 14 miles from Perth, Scotland. The two clubs became reciprocal in 1986, with Lake Karrinyup remaining Blairgowrie’s only reciprocal club worldwide.

In 1989, Blairgowrie Golf Club celebrated its Centenary and invited members from Lake Karrinyup to join the festivities. A group of 48 Members and Associates travelled to Perthshire and were welcomed in true Scottish tradition. To commemorate the occasion, Blairgowrie presented the group with a magnificent decanter. The Committee of the day later decided to use this decanter as the perpetual trophy for the Championship and Handicap Mixed Foursomes, which continues to be contested today.
