The Ladies Opening Day was held on Thursday, 15th March with 210 ladies competing on both courses. Perfect weather and great course conditions contributed to a close finish with three teams on 47 points.
With the winners decided on a countback, Jane Robinson and Wendy Griffiths had an outstanding back nine to take out first place, runners up were Tobey Robinson and Marcelle Landry and 3rd place went to Veronica Ntoumenopoulos and Peta Roberts.
Tobey proved “beware the sick” golfer with the incredible feat of Eagles on both the 2nd and 16th. If that’s not enough for the day we also had Sharon Dawson with an eagle of her own on the 16th. The Short Course ladies played a 14 hole 4BBB Stableford competition with Sue King and Deborah Bennett-Borlase coming out victorious after a countback with 35 points. Presentations followed with Kerry Albrecht and Dee Hill receiving their 50 year badges, and a sumptuous dinner in the dining room was enjoyed by 184 ladies.
