130 members and their guests were kept entertained at the recent Forecaddies Luncheon held on Friday 2nd September.
Social Committee Chairman Evan Campbell welcomed members and their guests and also special guests Matt Hale and Christian Canute (winemaker @ Rusden Wines in the Barossa Valley). Some magnificent Rusden wines accompanied a delicious 3 course meal prepared by Chef Dean and his team. Christian gave an insightful talk to the attendees about the family history at Rusden and also their many wonderful wines including the highly respected “Black Guts” Shiraz.
After the main course, comedy hypnotist Matt Hale took to the floor. Matt told the audience about what he does, how it works and what to expect, then asking for volunteers to take the “hot seats” at the front of the room. Grant Bird bravely nominated himself first and then 14 more intrepid gents followed. What was to follow bought tears of laughter to the faces of many in the room. The group was dwindled down to 6 people in the end and Matt had them under his spell, steaming hot and fanning their faces in their sun-lounges on the beach, next minute freezing cold trying to get warm cosying up to the person next to them. When they were handed the keys to their dream car, they drove at top speed, attracting the police, hitting speed bumps, turning corners, admiring the lady in the car next door and singing loudly to ACDC on the car radio, among other amusing antics!!! Lastly the group chose a musical instrument to play and they formed the Lake Karrinyup Orchestra. With violins, trumpets, drums and other instruments, this had the audience in hysterics.
The whole show had people crying with laughter and sore cheeks from giggling too much! Such a great day was had by all and thanks must go to Romana and her F&B team, Dean and his team in the kitchen and of course the Social Committee for organising another highly successful event at the Club. Stay tuned for the next Forecaddies luncheon in 2016.
