On Sunday 27th November the 69th Annual Club Breakfast was again held at the club with 72 members enjoying the traditional breakfast in the Bistro together with the ever popular “Paxton’s Punch” famously named after the events founder Mr Roy Paxton.
A highlight of the breakfast was having present Mrs Betty Ahern & Mrs Elaine Adams aged 99 & 93. It is their Husbands that created the first club breakfast 69 years ago Mr Roy Paxton & Mr Tom Ahern, hence the famous “Paxton’s Punch”. Betty & her husband Michael Ahern (Tom’s Brother) were also the winners of the inaugural event 69 years ago.
Once the Breakfast concluded the golf began and with a 9 Hole Mixed Medley Ambrose on the Main Course the winners with a fantastic score of Nett 27.18 were Ying Li, Lina Cui , Viv & Ned Overton followed by Di & John Gillard and Paul & Leonie Hazell on Nett 29.06.
A very enjoyable morning was had by all as we look forward to this events 70th Birthday in 2017.
