Another highly successful, sell-out Melbourne Cup was held at the Club on the 7th November. 245 members and their guests enjoyed champagne and canapés on arrival outside on the sunny terrace. The ladies all looked very glamourous and the gents suited up for the occasion. Cup sweeps were selling like hot cakes prior to the race that stops a nation. Once the race was over, happy punters collected their winnings and were then welcomed by President John Hanly in the dining room for a delicious 3 course meal prepared by Chef Dean and his team.
Following the lunch, the fashions on the field were judged by all in attendance and some very worthy winners received some great prizes for the Best Hat/Fascinator, Best Tie, Best Dressed Male, Best Dressed Female, Ms Melbourne Cup and the “Stand Out” prize. Congratulations to all who took home a prize and everyone present is to be commended on their outfits and glamorous “racing attire”.
Thanks to Dean and his team in the kitchen, Jess and her amazing team in Food & Beverage, the Flower Committee for the gorgeous centre pieces and floral arrangements, Damon and the Admin team, Ben and Rod in Maintenance for their set-up and of course to all the members who supported this great day once again, bringing along their guests.
