Saturday 29th June saw one of our highly regarded events of LKCC calendar take place , the President’s Trophy and Dinner for Mr. Con Barron.
To begin the day, President Con welcomed the morning group in from their round and provided his President’s address. All in all, 218 men challenged for the trophy playing individual Par event and with reasonable weather conditions, some good scores were had throughout the day.
Mick Malone was the triumphant winner of the event, fittingly being one of Con’s referees, and was presented with the President’s Trophy with a great score of 6up on a countback from Paul Larsen also on 6up, one clear of Kyle Holdsworth on 5up.
President Con again addressed the afternoon field at evening presentations and toast master & friend, Andrew O’Neil enlightened all those members present of Con’s history and achievements at the Club, along with a few stories to tell also.
A delightful 3 course dinner took place in the dining room with 90 members and partners present, complete with drinks on arrival, canapes and entertainment from Chill Duo.
